At the heart of our business is the collaborative exchange of ideas: bring your brainstorm, we’ll hammer it out.
Our dedicated and talented staff work hard to make sure that every weld and bend is executed with the highest possible degree of precision and workmanship.
Our 4,500 square foot shop is filled to the brim with every kind of tool and machine imaginable—lathes, drill presses, band saws, acorn tables, anvils, punches, a CNC Plasma Cut table, several forges, and a design studio with full CAD design capabilities.
We specialize in projects of any size, from small residential projects to large-scale architectural elements, from custom fabrications to sensitive and historical renovations. We also design and manufacture fully-customizable hardware for your kitchen, office, bedroom or institution, so that a consistent vein of design runs through your entire space.
In full operation since 2005, Santa Barbara Forge + Iron has established itself as one of the most sought-after and respected metal fabrication production houses on the California coast. We do extensive work in the Santa Barbara/Montecito community, as well as Beverly Hills, Rancho Palos Verdes, San Francisco, Truckee, and many others.
Our unwavering commitment to detail and accuracy uniquely equips us for for “distance-fit” projects (projects that are built at our shop, delivered to your home, and assembled onsite for a perfect fit). This distance-fit approach means less time spent on the job site, minimal foot traffic and disruption to your daily routine.
We come to you and make it happen, wherever you are.
The result of a dynamic collaboration between an army of local volunteers, businesses, and foundations, the world-class Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation (www.moxi.org) was scheduled to open in February of 2017 after nearly a decade of preparation.
The team at SB Forge got to work, and fabricated and installed 25 hand-forged outdoor light fixtures, as well as a large bowl-style bronze centerpiece lamp for the main roof tower, all designed by Ann Kale Associates.
The design team approached Santa Barbara Forge with a unique challenge: fabricate a series of unique outdoor light fixtures that would both complement the unique and beautiful architecture of the building and reference the nearby coastal flora/fauna.
Smart design and cutting-edge technology came together for these stunning outdoor light fixtures.
Beginning with hand-sketches on paper, these historic Moorish-influenced lights were then painstakingly designed in a CAD program before each piece was precision-cut and hand-assembled in the shop, weld-by-weld.
For many of our clients, the process of seeing an idea develop from conception to completion is artistically and personally exhilarating.
The process is a collaborative one; we will do our best to honor your artistic vision while offering our personal and professional suggestions in the design and fabrication process.
In short, we are excited to work with you.
