Heirloom metalwork
for the home or business.

Beautiful metal

Every piece we create is born out of our firm belief that great design coupled with beautiful materials can make our day-to-day lives richer and more rooted.

Santa Barbara Forge creates heirloom-quality custom metalwork that stands the test of time and inspires a return to excellence in craftsmanship.

At the heart of our business is the collaborative exchange of ideas: bring your brainstorm, we’ll hammer it out.

Our dedicated and talented staff work hard to make sure that every weld and bend is executed with the highest possible degree of precision and workmanship.

Excellence and Adaptability

Our 4,500 square foot shop is filled to the brim with every kind of tool and machine imaginable—lathes, drill presses, band saws, acorn tables, anvils, punches, a CNC Plasma Cut table, several forges, and a design studio with full CAD design capabilities.

We specialize in projects of any size, from small residential projects to large-scale architectural elements, from custom fabrications to sensitive and historical renovations. We also design and manufacture fully-customizable hardware for your kitchen, office, bedroom or institution, so that a consistent vein of design runs through your entire space.

Best of the New, Best of the Old

In full operation since 2005, Santa Barbara Forge + Iron has established itself as one of the most sought-after and respected metal fabrication production houses on the California coast. We do extensive work in the Santa Barbara/Montecito community, as well as Beverly Hills, Rancho Palos Verdes, San Francisco, Truckee, and many others.

Our unwavering commitment to detail and accuracy uniquely equips us for for “distance-fit” projects (projects that are built at our shop, delivered to your home, and assembled onsite for a perfect fit). This distance-fit approach means less time spent on the job site, minimal foot traffic and disruption to your daily routine.

We come to you and make it happen, wherever you are.

Production times vary. Please allow 4 weeks for creation & shipping. Each item we make is unique and comes with slight imperfections in shape, finish, and color. It's all part of the character of the pieces we sell, and will not affect performance. What is carbon steel? Read this article. How do our pans perform? Read this blog post. How do we make them? Click here. See below for care instructions.Hand-wash only. Pan will change color over time.

Like a cast-iron skillet, carbon-steel pans require regular care in order to yield the best cooking results.

Wipe clean and heat 1 tsp. of olive oil in pan after using. Take care, oil is hot and can cause injury! If desired, wipe sides and handle of pan.

If cooking results in residue, soak in hot water and wipe with gentle kitchen abrasive. Avoid soap, as it can strip the seasoning.

Hand-wash only. Pan will change color over time.

Click on this link for a more in-depth guide to pan care.

Be advised that certain acidic foods (such as tomatoes, lemon juice, or meat) can "strip" the seasoning coat on the pan, resulting in uneven color or food sticking to the surface. This is normal. In order to restore seasoning, scrub out pan thoroughly with soap and water and re-season before use.
